Glenglassaugh 50 Year Old Bottle at 40.1% abv

A privilege to announce. Glenglassaugh have released one of the rarest and oldest expressions to ever come from its Highland distillery. A 50 year old single malt, only 264 bottles have been released. The 40.1% abv bottling has been finished in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks from Andalucía, Spain. Incredibly, the Glenglassaugh Distillery has been shut down and reopened, all during this expression’s 50 year long maturation.

Matured in coastal warehouses, this is a transcendent harmony of flavours. Deep layers of figs and blackberry arrive on the nose. Almond, refined oak, caramelised pear, and soft exotic cherries offer a seductive sweetness on the palate. The finish is exceptional, a balance between a deep sweetness, tropical notes, and a gentle ocean breeze. Flavour notes arrive like waves, rolling and intensifying with each sip. A showstopper.
