Yamazaki Limited Edition 2021 Bottle at

From 2014 to 2017, Yamazaki’s limited edition releases were among the most sought-after annual Japanese whiskeys on the market. With limited numbers and precious, aged Yamazaki liquid inside, they delivered quality, appearance, and collectability.

However, once the realities of the perilous whisky shortage took hold, these wonderful expressions were set aside, making way for less-premium NAS whiskies, such as Essence of Suntory Volumes 3 and 4, as well as the recent Yamazaki Cask Finish releases. Now, with the release of the Yamazaki Limited Edition 2021, the good times have returned, at least partially, and we have some truly premium Yamazaki whisky to enjoy.

Created by marrying malts aged 12 years or more, all of which were matured solely in virgin Mizunara oak casks, this delightful whisky is smooth, flavorful, and incredibly moreish. Pineapple, orange, and nutmeg emerge on the nose, followed by honey, coconut cream, and blueberries on the palate. The medium-length finish is somewhat smoky, with vanilla and ginger lingering in the background.
