Fuji 50th Anniversary Edition Blended

Part of a series of releases celebrating 50 years of the Fuji Gotemba Distillery, this Fuji Single Blended Japanese Whisky is a masterful creation. The release includes malt from the distillery inauguration in 1973, as well as malts from each decade through the 2010s, combined with three global styles of grain whisky-American, Canadian, and Scottish, also chosen from each decade.

The liquid was matured in American White Oak ex-Bourbon barrels, with Mizunara, Spanish Oloroso, and French Oak wine casks also having an influence. Sitting at 51% abv, you’ll find top notes of cognac, compote of pears, white peach tart and brown sugar syrup. The palate is full of blackberry, cassis, violet, rose, white flower nectar and cinnamon. On the close you’ll be greeted with a complex and fragrant barrel-aged aroma which spreads in the mouth, accompanied by a pleasant sweetness that lingers for a long time.
